Our Experienced  Ayurvedic Teachers

Luz Pellegrino

Luz obtained her certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle instructor back in 2001 and later, as an Ayurvedic Consultant Graduate from the Chopra Center University. She complemented her clinical training at the Institute of Integrative Ayurveda Medical Education and obtained her Panchakarma and Ayurvedic therapies certification in South India.

In 2011, Luz established Jothi Vita Ayurvedic Spa & Wellbeing Center in South Florida where she offers consultations, therapies, Panchakarma, classes and workshops. Expanding her vision, Luz acquired SAI Ayurvedic Institute, where she serves as the Academic Director and member of the faculty.

Magdala Jaramillo

Psychologist, L.M.T., PGDA, MBA, D. AYU. Born in Bogota, Colombia, she holds the degree in Psychology from the Universidad de Santo Tomas and practiced there as an Organizational Psychologist and Consultant as well as teaching corporate clients in Colombia and the USA a variety of disciplines including Stress Management, Development of Positive Thinking and Holistic Lifestyles. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Human Resources Management and was later certified in Holistic Wellness Coaching, Personal Training, Fitness, Exercise Coaching, and Nutrition. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Structural Integration and CORE Myofascial Therapy. Magdala graduated from Sai Ayurvedic College as Doctor in Ayurveda and has her own practice focusing on Ayurvedic medicine.

William A. Courson

C.H., BVS (Ayu), D. Ayu is administrative director of and an instructor at the New Jersey Institute of Ayurveda, of which he is a graduate. A retired accountant with a background in journalism, he has been a lifelong student of and writer on the themes of traditional healing, alternative medicine, spirituality and eastern and western alchemy. In addition to his role as an Ayurvedic practitioner, he is a certified herbalist and Reiki Master in the traditional Usui lineage and has authored numerous professional and popular articles in these fields. He has taught professional level courses in all of these disciplines, and most recently trained aspiring physicians in Reiki at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Medical School.

Bill is active in a number of professional organizations, is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association’s Educational Standards Committee and on the Indian Government sponsored Ayurveda-United States Advisory Council. Bill is also Sai Ayurvedic College’s Dean for Academic Affairs and Development.

Rupali Panse

Experienced Ayurveda consultant with 20+ years of experience in the field of Ayurveda and Panchakarma. Teacher and committee member of Savitribai Phule University, in Pune, India where she participated on creating the Post Graduate Certificate Course of Integrative Dietetics. 

Author of the Indian bestseller book on Ayurveda dietetics named ‘Udarasth’. Contributing author of the book, ‘Nutraceuticals for Aging and Antiaging’.

Aparna Bapat

BAMS, is the College’s senior faculty member. She has been a dedicated international Ayurvedic Specialist (Vaidya), consultant, and educator since 1990 and is a member of the Board of Directors, National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). 

She studied Ayurvedic medicine at the University of Pune, faculty of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. She was a Senior Lecturer at the College of Ayurveda in London, U.K. Bapat is the author of numerous articles on Ayurvedic medicine and related themes, has made multiple television appearances, and is one of the premiere lecturers, scholars and practitioners of Ayurveda in the West today. She is also on the faculty of the New Jersey Institute of Ayurveda, in Montclair, New Jersey.

Anisha Durve

Dr. Anisha Durve is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncturist, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ayur-yoga teacher, and meditation instructor. She is a 2001 graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute after spending 4 years training under Dr. Vasant Lad in New Mexico as well as his clinic in Pune, India.

Her specialty is marma or ayurvedic energy points and she is the co-author of a clinical textbook on acupressure with Dr. Vasant Lad titled Marma Points of Ayurveda. Anisha is the founder of the Marma Institute and currently works at University of Miami’s Osher Center for Integrative Health as the co-director of acupuncture.

Anna Chassot - Petersen

Is a certified professional Ayurveda Wellness Counselor and Practitioner with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. She is also a former graduate from the Sai Ayurvedic College and an E-500 RYT Yoga instructor with degrees in the US and India. Ana also has a journalism degree and has worked as TV and digital content producer. As a member of the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), Ana dedicates her life to teaching and promoting wellness and is the founder and CEO of BeeWellNews.com.

Rebeca Rodriguez

Received her post-doc degree in Ayurveda at Sai Ayurvedic College. She has extensively studied Ayurvedic psychology, Inside Out Learning Ecosystem (OILEE). This system allows the individual to understand the structure that created their subjective experience. She frequently visits Kerala, India where she works closely with an Ayuvedic doctor. She obtains firsthand experience monitoring Ayuvrdic treatments given to patients as well as providing post-treatment follow ups. She also incorporates the key objectives of Ayurveda into her yoga curriculums. 

She teaches clients on maintaining a balance in the all the three dosha and has been doing so over 7 years. She is certified and teaches various modalities of yoga including hot-power, Vinyasa, and Hatha. Her diverse skill set allows her teaching methods to adapt to the students’ needs. Rebeca is a RYT 500 with over 800 hours of training. She currently resides in Brenham, Texas where she teaches yoga at A&M University. Before focusing on her Ayurvedic studies, she graduated with honors (summa cum laude) with a Masters degree in Social work from San Francisco State University, California with a minor in philosophy.
